I’ve been meaning to post this game for a couple days. I recommend trying it out. The game is more or less a pachinko style game with a little bit of a Peggle feeling to it. The game is very very japanese and…well you’ll just have to play it. Give it at least 5 minutes.
Well, the site has been up for a while and I forgot about the initial release, but Pixel Prospector has just had an update to their RSS feeds, so now’s a good time to post on it.
Pixel Prospector has released their new site. According to the News post at Pixel Prospector / indev, the site features:
* 235 Free Indie Games (only full versions)
* All with a Gameplay Clip (2 min – 10 min)
* All with at least 5 Screenshots
* All with essential info (Download Link, Developer, Size, Year, Homepage)
* All with additional info (Dev Tool, Links to other Reviews, Links to additional Let’s Plays and other Videos, Info whether a game needs to be installed or not)
* All with a short description
* New Logo by Jason “JaJitsu” Boyer
* 1 New Game Every Friday
There’s a little bit more info in the source link below, so go check it out, and be sure to check the new website out at the link below:
After the Humble Indie Bundle topped the incredible heights of $1million total sales, the developers involved announced they’d be releasing the source for their games (after a quick code clean-up, of course!). Wolfire’s Lugaru went first, followed by Penumbra: Overture. Gish’s source was burst open a few days ago. Now Aquaria has followed suit, rounding it all off.
Creator Jay Pavlina explained that several characters had to be cut from the game’s initial release, including Luigi, the SOPHIA battle tank from Blaster Master, and Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.
Portal is not an indie game, but…well, what the heck!
If you haven’t already signed up for Steam, now is a time to. Portal is free until May 24th in celebration of it being released on the Mac, so what are you waiting for? Get one! Go! NOW!
SHMUP: Orbital Combat is Andrew R. Gray’s first public project that was started in early February 2010. It’s a starfighter simulation in the vein of the Rogue Squadron games – defeat enemies and upgrade your ship to get the highest rank possible!
As I was searching the web yesterday and happened upon “The Big list of Indie Game sites“. Well I contacted the poster and thanked him for putting us up on his list of links (and the intent to give more press to Kino One ).
Well because of this, Simon “AuthenticKaizen” (aka the Pixel Prospector) contacted us with the news of his new “Pixel Prospector” site. Pixel Prospector / INDEV is Simon’s website which focuses on free indie games and posts about them, but what will the new Pixel Prospector site be? Well according to his post here:
“So, what will the new site offer you may ask…
As you know the INDEV part focuses on games in development and the main site will offer you this:
* 200 Freeware Games that are actually completed
* 1 new game a week
* Nice Gameplay Videos for every game
* 5-10 screenshots
* 10 min trailer that includes all 200 Games.”
Simon told me that the new website will be released soon, as a matter of fact, his exact quote was:
“defnite launch date: end of may ”
So if you want some indie gaming for 0 dollars and 0 cents then you should probably check that out when the new site is released. The site will be available at: http://www.pixelprospector.com/ so be sure to watch for updates.

Now this is cool! Mario Brothers 1 with more 8-bit era characters.
In this game you can play as Mario, Link, Bill R. (From contra), Simon (From Castlevania), Megaman, and Samus. Each of them have their own unique abilities such as shooting from their original games!
Press Z to jump and X to attack or Run. S is an alternate attack for whatever character you are using.
* Mario – Mario is only character with the ability to run. He also gets fireball powers when he gets the flower just like in the original Mario NES. Mario has no alternate attack with S.
* Link – While in the air, link can perform an upward thrust or downward thrust by pressing up or down. He can also throw his boomerang to stun enemies and grab items by pressing S.
* Bill R. – Bill Can shoot in different directions if you hold up and down while moving. His powerups are very nice once you get him the flower.
* Simon – Uses the whip to kill foes. He also can double jump while in the air if you jump a 2nd time, don’t ask me how this is physically possible! Simon can also throw axes by pressing S. He can throw more axes at a time by getting a Mushroom or Firepower.
* Megaman – Uses his blaster cannon to shoot enemies. He can also slide by pressing down and Z while on the ground for a burst of speed. When megaman gets the Mushroom or Firepower he can charge his blaster cannon to get a charged shot that is very powerful.
* Samus – Samus uses her blaster to shoot enemies. She also can turn into a ball by pressing down. While in ball form she can set bombs by pressing X.
This post is a two part post, first off, I want to give credit to IndieGames.com for having this posted so I could find it. The original post I found this was here. I was originally just going to post the news about it, but the second part of this post is that it’s a Indie Game Spotlight for this game. Here ya go:
(This image was taken from Indiegames.com, to see the rest of the screenshots click the link above, if you don’t want a spoiler then don’t go beyond screenshot number 3)
Well TNTBF was created as a contest entry into the YoYoGames “design a handheld game” competition. Because of this the game is free. Of course, upon first examination of the game I thought “hey something to post in the blog” then I downloaded it to see what it was like. What entailed was me spending around 30mins to an hour beating the game, dying over 200 times. Yes over 200 times, and I enjoyed every minute of it!
This game is…wow…that’s all I can say. Some might not get it and might not get as addicted, but I REALLY enjoyed it. Jonathan ended up chiming in while I was playing it and we were exchanging comments about how “i was addicted”. The game starts to get hard but pulls you in greatly. This game is definitely recommended, and you can’t take it at face value, play the game. If you like it, tell us or Jesse, his website is below where the game’s link is. If you hate it then you probably never played a nintendo and should really do something about that.
To sum it up, They Need to be Fed is great, it’s an awesome freeware game that will push you into beating it the moment you start playing and I did enjoy it thoroughly. I recommend playing it.
